Independent Lifestyles Australia (ILA) enables people with disabilities to live the life they choose to live by providing supported independent living accommodation with SIL home care supports on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Our purpose is to bring joy to those we care for by empowering our residents to live independently, lead full and happy lives they choose, within a caring and supportive home.

Our focus is to cater to the needs of disability participants to live "a normal life" by assisting them to fully realise their potential, to participate in and contribute to society and to have a say in their own future - just as other members of Australian society do.

Our Foundations

We believe that every focus area is underpinned by our unwavering commitment to safety and quality in everything we do and our desire to build home environments that are inclusive and representative of Australian society. We believe NDIS Practice Standards are a minimum set of expectations for services, and we seek to exceed these in everything we do.

Our Services
As part of ILA's mission and our "Best Life Service Model" we take on the roles of both Property Manager and
Supported Independent Living (SIL) service provider.
Maximising the independence and quality of life for people living with disability needs, as well as providing a tailored supported accommodation service.
SIL Home Accommodation
Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) Homes offer 24 hour, 7 days per week support and accommodation for Australians aged under 65, who have a permanent and significant disability in a shared living arrangement to help each person live as independently as possible. Our group home(s) may range between 2 to 4 participants sharing a home together, each person with their own private bedroom.
Our care team are on hand 24/7 to offer assistatnce and supervision of daily tasks to improve the skills of a person with disabilities to be able to live as independently as possible along with companionship and with other people of similar needs.
Our participant matching process ensure the harmony of the home environment is preserved and suitable for each resident. It's equally important for everyone in the household to get along, so like minded housemates are also matched based on compatibility, shared hobbies and interests.

Our bespoke home environments are a combination of each individual's preferences, strengths, support requirements, informal and community supports. Our SIL homes are more cost-effective for residents because sharing a home also means, sharing the cost of rent and utilities, therefore our residents have more funds to put towards other things that they want. It's also an opportunity to share supports, for example in a SIL home shared by three people, the carer's overnight shift cost could be split between three people rather than paying for this solely out of their own individual package.
SIL Home Care Support
All of our SIL home care support services focus on providing comprehensive high-quality care, underpinned by dignity, choice and the desire to maximise its resident's independence by highly skilled and suitably trained staff.
SIL Home Care support Services may occur across 24hour period as part of a 7 days, rotating roster.
ILA provides the necessary managerial supervision and leadership, support and training as required for all staff.
Our, rigorous recruitment process, ensures staff are screened and undertake the necessary disability employment screening, criminal and police checks required.
Checks and measures are undertaken to ensure our staff comply with ILA's professional standards, policies, procedures and code of conduct.
Our caring team work closely with participants and their families to help determine the right supports to suit individual needs, personal interests and preferences.
